How I did it: Giving up animal products for me has been about listening to my body's reluctance to eat them!When I was in college, I became wary of red meat and ate much less of it, until I was rarely eating it, then stopped eating it all together. Then I ate less and less chicken until I was eating it so rarely that it made me sick when I did. Visited friends in Martha’s Vineyard who have a boat – being on it a few years ago is what got me interested! Had a great time, learned some of the terminology, pulled the halyard and helped put up the mainsail!
Now to sign up for a class before the end of summer!
This used to be something I would try to do on impulse and would get frustrated with and give up after a couple of minutes b/c I wanted my mind to be instantly empty. But I’ve been using a new technique that works really well and makes me WANT to do it because I can feel it making me calmer and more focused.
I think I need to track how often I use it – probably 3-4 times a week, but I really would like to get to every day, even on days when I’m not feeling stressed!
