done this 3 times: twice in a greyhound and once in a car. going cross country in a greyhound was amazing and is worth being romanticized. if you do it though, pack:
-(clean) underwear in your carry-on
-peppermint oil, which blocks out smelly people when you dab it under your nose AND will unclog your nose if needed
-plenty of food (greyhound only stops at McDonalds)
-something you can cover your eyes with to sleep
