How I did it: Know these: You can't round most corners (from a dead stop) in 1st gear- you'll have to shift to 2nd to complete the turn. You can't back off the accelerator completely between shifts. It takes a slight bit of gas. You will make an ass of yourself in traffic- stalling @ red lights, pissing off a few people- laugh it away later.
