buy a new sofa
Untitled 23 months ago

I’m hoping to go browse furniture stores tomorrow…..in preparation I bought this product called “Soft Paws” which are little rubbery sheaths that go over cat claws. My cats have done a real number on the current sofa, and a dog that we had for a little while ate a nice big hole under one of the cushions. I will be glad to see the back of that sofa going out the door.

quit drinking
day 1 23 months ago

I drank a bottle and a half of wine last night. I did absolutely nothing productive today as a result.
In the last year I have managed to reduce how often I drink, but find that about once a month I decide I deserve a little “relaxation” and end up binge drinking a bottle or two of wine.
I really shouldn’t drink at all. It just doesn’t seem to be a good idea for me. I drink alone and most times I end up drunk dialing the number of the guy who broke my heart about a year and a half ago. Funny thing is, he’s a bar owner. It makes me feel really ashamed that he knows that I am still hurting.
So here’s to day one.

Visit the Galapagos Islands
Untitled 23 months ago

Do it! I recommend this wonderful adventure. Eat ceviche at the little restaurant on the loading wharf….if you can, try to find some of the amazing tiny tomatoes that grow there. They are about the size of a pencil eraser but pack such an intense flavor. Stay at the Hotel Galapagos. Read “My Father’s Island” by Johanna Angermeyer, the daughter of one of the 5 German brothers who fled Nazi Germany and sailed to the Galapagos of all places! I won’t even start about the wildlife, but it was worth every penny to experience the islands and the people.
