How I did it: Well, my problem was that I either knew what I wanted, or I knew where I wanted something, but never them both at the same time. I finally figured out what I wanted, and where I wanted it. I chose to get the inlaid design on the headstock of my acoustic guitar placed on my forearm just underneath the crease of my elbow. How to own SPORE
It took me

briefly entertained

How I did it: I bought Spore on Amazon.com. It's pretty fun and very cute. However, I spent probably about 20 hours playing all the way through one organism's evolution, and I don't really see the point in making a new one.Very kid friendly game; I'd let any kid who can handle Monopoly play Spore. There isn't really any violence or content issues; mostly just technical difficulty and complexity. Read how I did it…

How to own a custom-built computer

How I did it: After years of lusting after custom components and the awesomely cool cases available to the computer builder, I finally took the plunge and got one built for me! Though I would love to do it myself someday, it was fun designing it and having it delivered ready-to-play. It's so fast, and so cool with blue lights, and an enormous 22" screen! Read how I did it…

I’m really struggling to find a good teacher here in Eugene. I’ve had lessons with three teachers, and none of them were a good fit. I emailed someone the other day off craigslist, but no response yet!

I feel stagnant in my practicing, and as a result am uninspired to pick up the guitar more than about once a week.

I may spend a week or two in Washington this December, and hopefully will be able to have more lessons from Alan Simcoe at Village Music; he is the best teacher I’ve encountered yet!

Also, I may be able to take a University of Oregon music class, Guitar 101 this winter term. I couldn’t fit it into my schedule this fall!

Today I ate the following things local to Bainbridge Island.

Farm Eggs from Holly Lane Farm – fried for brekkus.
Zucchini – sliced and sauteed with taco seasoning.
Organic beets – roasted with olive oil and salt for dessert.

I love eating local. It’s delicious and divine.

Doing it! Signed up for classes through the Oregon Firearms Institute, where I’ll rent a handgun, buy 50 rounds of ammunition, and learn to shoot from 7:30am to 6pm!
