I finally beat “B.Y.O.B.”. I’ve gotten better at alt-strumming as of late, so that helped a lot. I still haven’t beaten “Satch Boogie” though. I’m using a GH3 guitar, so I may pick up a GH:WT guitar. Supposedly, the slider bar makes “Satch Boogie” easier. I know some people only use the slider bar for that one song.

How I did it: The only song I had trouble beating was "War Ensemble". Learning the strumming speed of the intro was key (hint: it's faster than it looks). Other than that, I practiced alt-strumming. This game has a lot of fast songs, so alt-strumming is more important than in other Guitar Hero and Rock Band games. Read how I did it…
How I did it: It really just comes down to practice. "B.Y.O.B." and "Satch Boogie" are pretty hard to pass, but I honestly didn't use any tricks. It's just practice. Hyperspeed of course helps too. Read how I did it…
How I did it: See "lessons and tips". That's how I did it. More generally, I practiced A LOT, and I sought advice from others via the Internet for particularly difficult sections. Read how I did it…

I finally beat “Raining Blood” and “Take This Life”. I just have to beat Lou to finish the Expert career. After finishing “Raining Blood”, I tried about 6 times to beat Lou, but I failed each time. I will try again later. I’m sure I can do it.
After that, I will still have one bonus song left: “Through the Fire & Flames”. I don’t have any plans on beating that one soon. I still can’t make it past the intro.
I beat two more songs: “The Way it Ends” (bonus song) and “One”.
Actually, I beat “One” twice. Playing the easier version on Guitar Hero:Metallica helped. I can survive the solo just fine if I can come into it with a full meter, but I used to have trouble with the bridge. I’m now great at it. I could play it perfectly if it weren’t for the RYO chords (or is it RBO?).
It’s not beaten yet, but I’ve made improvements on “Raining Blood”. I had never gotten past “Mosh1” before tonight (the part with the very fast alternating four note scales with random chords thrown in for good measure). I passed it three times tonight, once without Star Power. Twice, I failed soon after “Mosh1”. Once, I made it to 91%.
It will be beaten soon…hopefully.
Songs I haven’t beaten:
Raining Blood
Guitar Battle vs. Lou (haven’t attempted)
Take this Life
Through the Fire and Flames.
I’ll consider this goal completed when I pass the first two since the others are bonus songs and I don’t expect to ever beat “Through the Fire and Flames”.
