I want to brush up on my Spanish and become fluent in conversational Spanish. I started working through Pimsleur French I A last week travelling last week. I already studied some Spanish and should really learn it better than I did in high school and college.

I am going to get Pimsleur Spanish I and work through A and B.

Scheme is the protoplasm that Programming Languages are made of. Worth learning, especially if you want to play with making your own languages. Alternatives: Other pliable languages such as Ruby, Python, or Squeak ( Smalltalk ).

So I finished SICP earlier this year. Totally worth doing. Changed my understanding of programming languages and computation in deep and subtle ways. Fleshed out some missing pieces in my CS education, since I am self taught. If you can get past the math and style of the first part, you are golden. Hang in there. Ping me for help.
