Progress on Chapter 2 is postponed until I decide once and for all how I’m going to handle this book as a whole. Question comes down to “Logic vs. Instinct”.
A deeper question (and no doubt, a more painful one) is, If I choose Instinct over Logic, do I trust myself enough to take such a great risk of time and effort?
No one can answer either question but me.

Began work and completed first draft of current novel-in-progress in 2003.
Have been revising during short bursts ever since.
Have successfully revised Chapter 1 and the majority of Chapter 2.
Present status: Halting progress until I decide once and for all the voice, backdrop theme, and narrative technique.

The current chapter spans a twenty-four-hour period; I’m at about 2:00 PM, Scene 8. Only a couple more scenes left before Chapter 2 is complete.
I’ve been working diligently all day. Wrapped up Scene 6 to my satisfaction. Scene 7 needs maybe one more workover.
I’d like to be done with all of Chapter 2 by Sunday night.
