8,047 words as of tonight. Way behind, but given the family crises at hand, that’s an accomplishment.
Writing was like squeezing blood from a rock tonight. Reading back over it, I could see the places where I struggled, and then the places where I hit my stride.
Problem is, I just can’t feel the enormous trauma my character must be feeling right now. I know it’s probably due to exhaustion, and it really doesn’t matter anyway, because in NaNoWriMo, quality is irrelevant.
Still…the inevitable disappointment in my improvisational prose is not good for morale. Not good at all.

Wow…moving right along. Knocked out three chapters tonight, and very satisfied with the level of tension and momentum.
Not satisfied with the lack of detail, though. I feel like I’m on a power-tour: no time to stop and read the historical notations on the plaques beneath the displays. Only time to push through from entrance to exit.

If I make it past the first week, I will have bested my performance last year.
Made it to Chapter 4 tonight. Strategy…allowing the story to come to me in a head-movie. Comes with a lot of fluff, but fluff is good for NaNoWriMo. Gives me more to work with for NaNoEdMo.
Also using WriteMonkey word processing program this year. Love love LOVE the typewriter sounds and the “ding!” on the hard return.
