I guess I’d become quite a pessimistic, cynical person through experiences in my early twenties. Being ill hasn’t helped because it sent my head further into that bad space. I feel I’m gradually really changing my attitudes and general way of thinking, I find myself challenging opinions. This has been helped by getting out more, listening to what people say and not being so judgemental myself but the volunteer training I’m doing is really increasing my awareness at how I deal with situations and looking at things from many different angles/ perspectives. Overall I feel like a happier and more chilled out person.

How I did it: cut down to or less a day, which wasn't too hard. But giving up completely was so difficult. I found out I was pregnant so once I had a scan with a heartbeat the urge just left. Not quite the way I'd hoped to quit but I have now and I feel so much cleaner and healthier. Read how I did it…
1/ Seeing the morning mist float above the river, filling the valley but leaving the hilltops exposed. beautiful.
2/ Getting my son to school before the bell!
3/ A quiet dog walk in the rain, through the woods.
Eating well, cutting down the caffeine and quitting smoking are finally taking effect. I’m noticing mood changes with take outs, but generally my mood is good. I’m feeling calmer and managing to do deep breathing exercises. My shoulders seem to be lowering from their uptight postition. Some days it’s hard to get up and keep going but I manage to get through it, set myself small goals and try to do something. makes me feel good, I feel as though I’m making real changes in myself.
