Had to do my first assignment for the first year 3 module. So … there’s two quite expensive LED thermometer thingies in a field, that i’m hoping don’t get swiped but the local louts.

33. Buy a House

I did own a house once, 3 years off owning it outright – then divorce happened!
I have a VERY distinct idea of what i’d like to buy. A small 2/3 bed Victorian terrace, fireplaces, south facing garden. I’ve even planned the colour schemes and decor of the living, dining, kitchen, bathroom, main bedroom and designs for the garden (arbours etc). I LITERALLY dream about it!!
Trouble is … single (crap) income, the government have done away with the scheme that helped you buy ANY house with a low cost Gov loan scheme. Spent the last year trying to save £3.5K to get on the scheme only to find that they’d allocated all monies and then scrapped it altogether. The only thing available now are brand new flat builds – shitty, shitty workmanship and overpriced! Why I have to commit myself to £140K on a piss poor 1 bed brand new flat, when i could get a 100yr old character full family home with a garden for much less is beyond me!
So… trying to think of some way round this
Okay so i failed in the mission of recording it every day but since my last entry i can honestly say that i have been happier than i’ve ever been in my life.
How strange how things turn out… bumped into someone i’ve known since i was 10, hit it off and have been seeing them for the last year. Bonus: they actually match my ideal man (extensive) list, re which, my mother said ‘so if you met this perfect man, what makes you think they’d like you’ – he does!
Still have major issues with some of the other things on my list – but it helps when you have someone to share these with. Still determined to be independantly financially secure though, no matter who i’m with.
