so i tried to make my own yogurt without a fancy yogurt machine. i followed these directions which came complete with pictures (http://www.makeyourownyogurt.com/). But for some reason, it turned out super watery, almost more watery than milk itself. There were a few visable curds, but not enough to make a thicker consistency. after asking a few of my yogurt-making expert friends, they suggested to check that i used a starter yogurt with live cultures. also, i think i might not have put the yogurt on the hot side of the heating pad. i’m going to try again next week.
