I think of myself as a loner who is seldom (if ever) alone. And while, with work and family life, there are great demands on my time, I find that also need time to myself. I’m very creative (I draw and write) and have projects that I need time to work on—that’s what this is about. Giving myself one morning every week that’s all mine. Kind of like an artist’s date with me.

Comes a time when you have to start putting your money where you mouth is. When its not about what you’d like to do, its about what you’re going to do … today and the day after that. There are things that I love to do that drift in and out of my life because I put the needs of everyone else ahead of my own. I want that to change. Starting today.
There are some great shows on television—no question. And I enjoy watching them but it comes down to the fact that I watch shows about people who never watch television. I’m watching life rather than living it.
My dog was killed recently (long, terrible story) and his death has taught me a few things about how I live my own life. One of the most important things that’s come out of that experience is an understanding that life is finite, the end often surprises you, popping out of nowhere.
I want to make better use of the time I have. Live life rather than watch someone else live.
