Humans crave society. The nature of electronic music is a communal mind-set, a joining of the souls as the DJ feels the crowd, rolling us through our emotions as we dance out the stress, the worries, the anxiety of our daily lives. Dancing is catharsis for the body and the soul. As we release ourselves to the enlightenment that comes with losing ourselves in the music, we crave others to join. Just like watching a funny movie or worshiping in a temple, when we are able to forget our individual selves and become the emotion, we crave others, those we love, those we like and those we don’t know but are happy to see. The emotion becomes greater as more people give it their energy; it floats above us in a great cloud of good will and good times, saturating the very air we breathe with happiness and harmony. Good vibes can always be found at a massive, though people are often too antsy to stay in one spot and absorb them.
The music pulls us.

“The main purpose of life is: To have a job in whose purpose you can believe; To have friends whose immediate purposes you can trust; To have some spot on earth to which you can return as home; To be at the same time a citizen of a larger world.”
- James A. Michener
