Life keeps getting in the way of doing many of the goals on 43Things, but this is one I don’t want to give up on yet.
Life keeps getting in the way of doing many of the goals on 43Things, but this is one I don’t want to give up on yet.
The summer is planned.
Trippy went to a Benedictine monastery last week.
I had this goal on my list for a while, then took it off because I wasn’t getting around to it. Inspiration struck this weekend; refinished and stained my mother’s old Danish walnut buffet (from Denmark). Looks OK; not great, but OK.
Now if I could only figure out which cat has been pooping under the work bench. Perhaps that should be my next 43Things goal.
Trippy has been to Seattle, Hawaii (again) and Boston.
More has been learned about his previous employment, too; including a stint as a cosmonaut in the 50’s.

It’s gone. Good feeling, except I threw away a game I wish I’d kept.
4 more days! Am happy with the results but I think I’ll keep this up until I get down to the weight my Driver’s license says (7 pounds less).
I’m ready to retire this goal. I think even as I posted it I knew I’d always been in touch with my Inner Major, but somehow I liked having it on the 43things list anyway. Every time I saw it, I resolved to try never to let that self-knowledge go.
Unlike Motoko, I’m not cold, precise, cogent or violent. But in my own way, I kick @ss daily . . . in particular the white fleshy spread of life’s @ss that keeps infringing on MY seat on life’s bus.
The summer is half-planned . . .
Neither Bu Yang Huan Wu Tang nor the correct herb Dang Gui Shao Yao San did anything for my circulation, not did I have a healthier winter :(
Up one pound, (I got a little depressed and self-indulgent and got into the Easter candy), but down to the only-10-days-left countdown for the sit-ups.
Down 14 pounds.
So relieved NOT to have put on any weight this week, despite the temptations and the occasional slip-ups on the trip to San Francisco.
I’m healthy enough to be back on the floor doing full sit-ups. Adding some other exercises now, as my stomach is toning up but the rest of me is still flopping around like Dumbo’s ears.
Down 13.5 pounds. The flu helped.
Still managing the 101 sit-ups. It’s easier now the worst of the illness is over.
Six weeks to go!
Day 50. Basically the half-way point.
Benefits: I’m still wearing my “fat pants” but the “even fatter pants” are too big now. That’s a relief.
