I set this goal, and then never read anything. I was so preoccupied with things, I told myself that I probably wouldn’t even read anything till the end of summer. That pretty much held true, but now I’m on my way to completing this.
1. The Five People You Meet in Heaven – Mitch Albom
I read this super fast, and couldn’t put it down. It leaves you taking a happy sigh by the end, and the whole idea itself is pretty unique.
2. Sundays at Tiffany’s – James Patterson
This one too, had a unique idea to it that I enjoyed, and fell in love with the characters. The ending was anti-climatic, but at the same time, exactly what I wanted to happen.
3. Paddle to the Sea – Holling C. Holling
I know it’s a children’s book, but I came across it, and decided to read it. It kind of started slow for me, but by the end, I thought it was pretty good, and would recommend it to kids of all ages. I’ll probably be reading a lot more younger books, seeing that my new job is in an elementary school library. :)
4. The Bell Jar – Silvia Plath
This, I’ve wanted to read for a while, and finally did. It was VERY well written, and the story is pretty intense. It really showed a side of story telling that I was unfamiliar with and knew little about. I loved it.
5. The Devil Wears Prada – Lauren Weisberger
I wanted to read something a little lighter after The Bell Jar, and picked up this one. I saw the movie when it came out, which I enjoyed, and kind of always wanted to read the book since then. I enjoyed the book, but because I’m not that into specifics of fashion, some of the descriptions were rough to get through. I don’t recall the movie that much, but I do know that some things were quite different between the two. I’ll have to see the movie again to decide which I like more.

Here’s Tango. He is an Australian Sheppard, and is wonderful. He is about 12 weeks old, but 10 weeks in the photo (when we got him) He is so cute and we love him!

I’m no longer living at home. Jessica and I have a house now! This happened around the end of July. Before then, I was unofficially living with Jessica at her apt. For the house now, it is official…I have my address changed and everything. We consider is ours, but in reality, it’s hers…cause there is no way I could afford it. I’m really sinking in my bank accounts, which I hope my new job can hope to start fixing. I really try to help out with things, cause I don’t want it to seem like I’m just going along for the free ride. Anyway, we love it here. It feels like up north, and there is a lot we want to do with it. Yay!

A real job!
I have been working at an Office Max for close to 4 years now. I feel very underappreciated and know that I have much more to offer. Back in May, I applied for a Paraprofessional position at East Detroit Public Schools (the district I went to school) and never heard anything. My mom is a teacher in the district, and that’s how I heard about it. Last week I finally got a call they were scheduling interviews this past Wednesday. I got a fancy suit, and interviewed. I felt it went well, and I guess it did, because the next day they called and said I got it!
I start Aug. 26th, and will have a schedule like any other teacher…with summers off, and christmas/easter breaks etc. I will be operating the Media Center at one of the elementary schools, but I’m not sure which one yet. I will be setting up programs, and helping students and teachers work on reports and projects, etc. I will also be helping with books in the library sorting, and cataloging. I’m so very excited about this! This is also great for me, because I really am looking into becoming a teacher, and this would be such a good experience.
Plus, it’s about 5 dollars more an hour that my Office Max job. I’m still going to work there for a little while, on some weekends and some evenings, but it’s just so great to feel that I don’t NEED that job anymore.

I tried to be unique and make 43 with my fingers while taking a picture of myself in the mirror.
All done!

LEAP YEAR…or day. So It’s been like 2 months since I posted my 28th picture. I still took one, but never posted any more…then I lost internet for a bit…it was a whole mess…but I’m back…again.
This day, here is a picture of a DVD cover I made for something I’m hoping to release soon. Just a complication of all my school projects and films I made back when I was in school. I still have yet to release it. :(

We have these goal books at work where we have to keep track of the hourly numbers, and certain types of sales that you make…really stupid stuff. I hate that we have to do that. But anyway, I had to design the covers for everyone, and decided to make it all disney, cause I’m a nerd. an awesome nerd.
