We had 2 weeks of unforgettable Roman ruins, crusader castles, Latakian weddings, souq shopping, carpet buying, palace tours, Cappadochian cave dwelling, shwarma and bouric eating, GPS reading, border crossing, mosques, former basilica, church, museum, ancient cisterns visits, Whirling Dirvishes… What more can I say? On top of it all, the Syrians turned out to be the friendliest, most fun-loving people we’ve met on this blue/green orb. If you get the chance to do this, go for it. Apart from a long wait at the Turkish/Bulgarian border, there wasn’t a single hassle or negative aspect to the whole trip (unless you count $3.30 a litre in Turkey!).

So far so good – I think… I need to give as much as I receive. Buy flowers occasionally. Organize more surprises. Plan more family events.
