I find this goal particularly difficult. My siblings and I have grown so distant. This fact makes me sad, but at the same time, I do nothing to change it. I feel I’m mostly to blame, but it’s hard not to think that a phone call is just as easy for one person to make as another. When it gets late at night, like right now, I feel the sting of this great disconnect more acutely.

How I did it: We started by thinking of personality traits, etc. that we wanted in a dog (plus any other factors like shedding, etc.) and then did research to narrow it down to about 2-3 breeds that fit the bill. I read as much as I could about these breeds and then looked for breeders in our area and talked to some of them. We ultimately got an 8 month old, pure bred dog (in the breed we had decided upon) through the classifieds. The… Read how I did it…
Well, it’s September 1st and we didn’t do anything with our yard this summer. There’s always next year.
I originally added “not die violently” sort of as a joke, although, I would really rather not die in that way. Maybe it’s all the crazy movies I saw when I was a kid, but I’m sort of paranoid about dying violently. Anyway, last week on my way home from work, I was driving in the left lane on the freeway and this huge, HUGE pickup truck is tail gaiting me like it’s the new black. So what does a feisty girl like myself do? I brake check him. Yeah, I know, not exactly smart when you’re driving a little old Corolla and the person behind you is most likely your stereotypical hot-headed, alpha-male in their gas-guzzling, ridiculously-large truck. Still… I hate tail gaiting. So the guy backs off momentarily and the next thing I know, he’s rushing up the carpool lane, gets next to me, and swerves straight at me! We’re going 80mph around 4pm, and the freeways are fairly packed. He keeps coming at me and literally runs me off the road. We cross the entire width of the freeway and I end up in the dirt on the right shoulder. He was not going to stop. This man is a freaking psycho. He runs me off the road and kind of pins me on the side for a bit, and then takes off. Meanwhile, we have not slowed down the entire time. If I had braked, I know he would have hit me with his truck bed, and my poor little car would have gone flipping. This douche didn’t give a damn. All I can say is “Road Rage is Awesome!” and, I really like having my life in the hands of some emotionally unstable prick.
