I plan to have my 20th birthday party in the Phoenix Park, Dublin. It will be the 16th July so the weather will be fine. We will all wear white and pastels with the cutest little frilly socks but I think people will take it to be vintage indie and I’m okay with that! I’ll send invitations in miniature envelops and it will be absolutely smothering in nostalgia and Jane Austen quotes. Think cucumber sandwiches, ham sandwiches in tiny triangwiches. Limericks and silly poems. Cups and saucers always outnumbering the guests. Lots of flowers and floral patterns. Curly hairdos looking utterly sublime. Mary Janes on your feet and icing on your cake. Cherry bakewells and jelly and ice-cream. Parasols and cameras. Smiles and scrabble. Don’t forget the pink lemonade! If you don’t have a ribboned hat you’re just not in style! I really want it to be like a scene ripped straight out of Pride & Prejudice with maybe a bit of Marie Antoinette in there for good measure! All I have to work on now is being girly again…
It’s asking me to write an entry so I guess I will! I’m currently learning German in University. I learned German early on in Secondary school (high school to you yanks!) but gave it up in favour of French but always with the intention of learning it again later. Well now after much hard work I have gained a place in a prestigious university… only problem was there was no beginners German so I had to take a test. Well I’d say I was in by the skin of the nerve on my tiniest tooth! But now that I’m in the class (which is full of native speakers ahhh!) I can only get better and I’m already seeing improvements so I’m quite proud of myself!
