Great set, included all my faves. One encore, lots of new songs.
Sunday, June 17: Tortoise @ the Waiting Room
Lichen as opener, kicked ass, blew my mind. Fantastic set, lots of energy, groovy to the end. Two encores! Wish I would have taken my camera.
the deformities… two nights in a row.

15 total. I added this goal with the intention of getting to 43 in a year, but i’m waaaay off.
Went with a group of five other Celica owners to a meet at Shawnee Mission Park in KC. Not a bad trip, and the seats in the car never got uncomfortable. I’d still like to go on something longer, with multiple stops.
$900 burning a hole in my pocket… I had to do something. I figured, when I move out, I’ll need a TV. Also, trying to buy something expensive like a TV could be tough after adding rent to my expenses. I decided to grab a good one while I have the money.
A bigger computer monitor was on my list of desired things as well, so I killed two birds with one stone. I’d highly recommend going this route if you’re curious. You can’t watch TV and Instant message simultaneously, or anything of that sort, but a computer can easily bundle together your DVD player and video games if you’re not happy about having to buy those in addition to the TV.
I’d also recommend going with LG brand. They make a great product (already a lot of good experience with their cell phones), and because they’re relative newcomers, the price is right. A Samsung or Pioneer of the same size would easily cost over $1,000, on sale.
it literally fell into my lap.
I was looking at a Scion TC, but since one would be hard to get, the salesman held this one for me over the weekend and sold it to me yesterday :D
still hasn’t set in, though… It feels like i’m just on regular summer vacation so far.
I just got a new job, and it’s going to make me $9.00/Hour. I’m definitely on my way to becoming financially independent.

but a short film nonetheless. It was for a school project. We had to write a story and adapt it to film, based on 1984 and the characteristics of a dystopia.
Of course, mine caused a bit of controversy because it involved drug use… I figured if anyone’s was going to, my luck would have it be me. Oh well, that teacher needs to think outside her comfort zone. I think it was a good experience for her. We’re seniors in high school anyway.
I’m going in to train tomorrow at Sheridan’s Frozen Custard. Best place to work during the summer, if i do say so myself. Sure, there’ll be a bunch of whiny, screaming kids… but hey, there would be pretty much anywhere I’d qualify to work. Now, i just have to hope i’ll make more than my little brother is at the grocery store… Oh, and having a job means I’ll be getting a car in the near future!

ooh, it felt good to get to a show.
oh, and do the three i performed count?
I’ve had this on my list for quite a while, and I think I’ve managed to accomplish becoming less materialistic. It’s one step on a long journey to selflessness.
it’s a really interesting thing to do, but i’d like to try it again with another story. i set out to make it more of a spider web/chooseyourownadventure type of plot, but it ended up more more linear. i suggest anyone interesting in writing try out a hypertext; embrace the future.
i don’t really have much of a choice, really. if i go to a concert ‘round these parts, there’s a 110% chance it’s a local or regional band. it’s all good music, too, so i don’t mind one bit.
