It was great! I can’t wait to do it again! It takes a lot of time and dedication, especially if you are a perfectionist like me and hold yourself to high standards. But I ran my first marathon in my hometown, Portland Oregon, and I felt so accomplished. It was an incredible feeling.

Being new to the area, I wasn’t aware that in Florida, you only have about a two month window to go camping. I attempted to camp over Labor day weekend in the Everglades. That was a mistake. There were SO MANY mosquitos. I have never seen a place where the mosquitos never go away. I thought they only came out at cetain times. But not in the Everglades. Needless to say, we were eaten alive, the bug spray did no good. It’s no fun when the only thing you want to do is sit in a tent while your camping. Yuck, we were out of there first thing in the morning. Better luck next time.
My basil has sprouted! Don’t really know what to do next, I guess they have to be repotted? Not sure, but I want to get a few more plants…chives and rosemary sound good, to make it a real ‘herb garden.’
