After following my bread and water fast for most of the day yesterday I discovered something I didn’t quite expect. Eating only the bread for that period highlighted just how much salt must be used in the baking of it. It’s not something you notice when eating it normally. While not the mass-produced plasticy stuff, this bread was NOT of the quality I’d need to survive for three days. Thus, I’ve backed off the fast for now and will either try again once I perfect baking my own or will attempt a liquid fast of water, juice and broth instead.

Fast re-thought

Tomorrow will mark the beginning of my proposed three day bread and water fast. I’m certainly looking forward to it as I’ve been feeling a little over-fed for the past week, plus I’m eagerly anticipating the test of my mental focus. Last night I bought myself quite a varied selection of bread to have a proper stock, plus some bottled water that I can bring to work with me. I’m hoping to bake some bread too, but as I’m still a novice at that it’s good to have the supply as backup.
Wish me luck!
