I found someone who had some sheltie puppies. I went and picked one out and game him a deposit. In about 2 weeks, I will go back and get my puppy. Looking forward to it!

How I did it: I saved up for a long time, found a good real estate agent who showed me a place I liked, and I got it. Really pretty straightforward. I also spent a lot of time researching where I wanted to live, what I wanted in a house, how much I wanted to spend and things like that, which gave me a good idea of what I was looking for in a house. How I did it: The hardest part was finding someone in my organization with a job that would take me in a place I wanted to go. My current office had a position in another city, and although it meant another year of shift work, I took it. Once that happened, I found a replacement for myself in my apartment, I moved out, and I up and left town - permanently. Ha! Read how I did it…
How I did it: I found a place in DC that has it. Its called Wisdom, and they have a selection of 5 or 6 different brands. I picked one, they did the whole process of preparing it in front of me, and it was pretty good. It wasnt strong at all and was very smooth. The bartender was nice, and if it was in a more convenient location, I would probably go back every now and then. Read how I did it…

Over the course of about 2 years, I positioned myself so that I would be a strong contender for a promotion. While I and those I worked with thought I was deserving, my boss was a mix of incompetant and corrupt, so it didnt matter. Now Im in a new office, so I am the low man on the totem pole. However, I can still try for promotions in other offices (maybe my old office will come around) and I have been doing this longer than a good number of people in my new office (though I am at best 2nd in line for a promotion there). Also, its really hard to get promoted due to the organization’s policy on them. Maybe they will change it so that if you are good, your boss can just give you one. That’s how it used to be.
Im most of the way there. I still need KS, WI, MN, ND, AK, and VT. I needed Arkansas, but I went to Memphis last year and knocked that out. I should be able to get to Kansas and Wisconsin easily enough, though Im not sure when it will happen. I want to go to Kansas City, so that shouldnt be too tough, and although Wisconsin could be a little tougher, I have a plan for that too.
