How I did it: Some people become vegan as soon as they make up their minds to do so. Others, especially non-vegetarians, may choose a more gradual route. I was already vegetarian when I made the decision to become vegan. I had already cut out eggs and dairy, cheese was the last to go. When I finally decided, I just did it - no going back, no regrets. I officially became vegan on February 1, 2001 – eight years, three months, eleven days, and counting! I will be vegan forever. I don’t understand how other people who actually know me, especially other vegans, can ask me from time to time if I am still vegan. My decision to be vegan was for ethical reasons – health, environmental, and ecological reasons are just added benefits. So, yes, I am now and always will be vegan – for the rest of my life. My heart will not change, therefore my answer to that question will not change. Thanks for letting me vent! :)
