It’s nice to have a place to do with what you want and not to pay into the rent pit. At least you get to deduct your property taxes from your income tax. It hits you the first time that you have a problem that you can’t call the landlord to fix it, but at least you are in control and make all of the decisions.
Mine was a real fixer upper. I have included a photo of it when we bought it. New windows have done wonders for it.

this is so hard for me. Sometimes I do it without even realizing. I will do it until my fingers bleed. Why do I find it so satisfying?
