My father has cleared the overgrown yew tree that was hanging over it and we’ve both talked a lot about how we can get the herb garden going again. There’s not much sense in planting anything next time I am home, which is Christmas, but in the Easter holidays it will be spring and so hopefully we can make some progress then!

How I did it: Firstly, I organised my list a bit better - it's now got "life goals" (like backpack through Europe, make a living from my creativity, etc.) grouped together, "ongoing" goals (get really good at origami, learn to paraglide, become fluent or semi-fluent in Mandarin, etc.) grouped together and "one-offs" (make love in the rain, build a fort in my living room, etc.) grouped together.I also cleared out the goals that were unrealistic, that I … Read how I did it…
How I did it: You need a big ball of snow for the body and a little one for the head. They'll be too big to make into balls in your hands so try rolling them around the garden (or wherever your snow is). We used coal for eyes, buttons and mouth as we had a coal shuttle but you can probably use stones if you don't. A carrot for the nose is a must! And give him a scarf and/or a hat. Arms are optional, I don't think we used to bother but some people use b… Read how I did it…

After two years of studying Mandarin, I feel that I can get by with it. Hopefully when I go to China on my travels after university (summer 2010) I will be able to increase my Chinese skills enough so that I feel I can call myself “semi-fluent”.
The Tales of Beedle the Bard – J.K. Rowling
Not a bad book.
I had an S lined up but it took me so long to read R that I can’t remember what it was. I might even have already read it by now! I’ll have a root around for another one. It’s a fairly easy letter, after all.
