My sister was a vegetarian for almost 15 years before I did the same. My inspiration was my then-boyfriend who was an ethical vegetarian, something I’d never heard of. He wasn’t pushy, and it wasn’t until I’d read some of his Herbivore magazines that I thought it was a good idea. It’s been almost three years now, and I feel good, but I still miss pepperoni pizza.

Alphabetizing my Father-in-Law's Record Collection

We are the temporary recipients of a large jazz and “other” collection from my father-in-law. My husband was content to let them sit in a closet (even though he’s a music lover) but the librarian in me was going nuts. I just made a huge mess of piles on the living room floor, made a few simple labels for a large and mostly empty set of shelves I’d just built, and made a nice-looking library.
