Quit Smoking
Help ... 6 months ago

I’ve been one week without a full cigarette. I’ve slipped a few times here and there, but I’ve had no more than 4 drags off a single cig in a day since I quit. I’ve been smoking for 8 years, pack-a-day for 6, so cigarettes have been a big part of my entire teenage/adult life – I’m proud to say I’ve come this far, even if I haven’t quit 100%. A couple drags once a day vs at least 20 full cigs is a big accomplishment.

Problem is, it’s getting harder with each passing day. I feel like I’m just waiting – either for this feeling to pass, or for a time when it’s okay to smoke again. And I absolutely CAN’T focus at work. My concentration is just gone.

Is this normal? How long until it starts getting easier/my focus comes back? I really don’t want to start up again, but I can’t go on feeling like this and getting such little work done for much longer.
