Living is easy with eyes closed is a line from one of my favorite songs “Strawberry Fields Forever” by the Beatles. Aside from the fact that it’s a great song, I really like the message and I feel like it fits perfectly with what I am all about and the things that I am passionate for. What I understand this line to be is that when we just close our eyes we can imagine just living easy. We don’t have to deal with the struggles and the revolutions and war that surrounds us. It’s always easier just to forget about what’s going on, to fight and struggle for justice and peace. It may seem pessimistic, but I wanted this message tattoed on my body as a eternal reminder that there are always gonna be struggles within me and the world around me. That I cannot just close my eyes with all the bullshit around us. It would just be too easy.
