for be it is about running being part of your life and not dominating it. it is easy to say that when you have been through the period where it dominated your life :-)
i have been in and out of stages of wanting to be healthy. no one wants to be unhealthy. in this incarnation I have decided to do it by not drinking and it has been 15 months since my last drink.

It is all about having mates and being there for eachother. IN my case it is my friends from school days, places of work and most recently my Cool Running friends.
I want to be around for my family. This means I have to be healthy and in a postive frame of mind. To do this you have to have your own act together and that is why I run.
Paul asked the dalai lama the meaning of life on the 7:30 report and with out hesitation the dalai lama said to be useful and happy. I could not agree more.

I have done 11 of these events. I had a break from 1995 to 2005. So I have 9 to go and and I am now (2006) 45 years old. So I should be able to do it.
