Chicago Half Marathon, Sept 9 2007 10 months ago

Finished at 2:29:33. Would like to improve my time, and was a little disappoined at how tired I was near the end…I think eating/gels would have helped but will have to try next time. Other things I’ll try to do if I run another half…train a little harder by adding speed work and cross training and try to eat cleaner.

My ITB syndrome flared up around mile 8 and nagged at me until I finished, but overall I was happy with the whole experience. The weather was absolutely perfect and I was very happy to cross that finish line.

Hit a bump in my long run yesterday. Was supposed to run 10 miles but hit the wall at 9.5 and had to walk the rest of the way. Hydration counts!! I’m getting nervous about the race which is in two weeks. I hope I trained enough. I don’t just want to finish, I’d like to finish strong and happy.
