August 11

So, I disappeared again. Work started last Monday, so I’ve been adjusting to that. Half my apartment is still in boxes. I’ve also been trying to make some new friends since I don’t know anyone here, excpet my family. But, I’ve been doing pretty well with keeping the diet going. I had a couple bad days when I started work, eating in the cafeteria, but now I take my lunch every day, and I’m excited that I’m at 28 pounds gone. A quarter way to my ultimate goal was 27.2, so I’m now over 25% of the way there.

I’ve switched my weigh-in days to Saturday, because that is the only time I can go in the morning. I check my own scale more often though, to make sure I’m headed in the right direction.

I’m starting to feel better about myself, which is making me much happier. Seems like this was a pretty good week. :)

I’ll be catching up on everyone’s entries this week. Hope everyone is doing well!

Start Date: May 11, 2007

Time Elapsed: 3 months

Total Weight Lost Thus Far: 28.0 pounds

Weight Remaining: 72.0 pounds

Weight Remaining to Actual Goal Weight: 80.8

July 25

Oooh, 5 months until my 24th birthday! Yay!

So, I’ve disappeared for a couple weeks. A couple bad weeks. After my last recorded weigh-in on July 8 (20 pounds down), I went on a bit of a binge. I didn’t have food in the house, because I had been between several different cities, so I started eating out. Because I was moving (this is how I justified it to myself, at least), I didn’t want to buy new food, so I started hitting up fast food places. And to make that even worse, it was always late at night when I was up late packing. Basically, back to all my old habits that got me in trouble in the first place.

Anyway, packing, the wedding, and the move, I discovered that I had gained back 4.6 pounds. But right after I got here, I got back on track and now have ONLY healthy foods in the house, which is a change even from my previous place because there was always left-over, non-healthy stuff.

So I’m back on track and this week has gone much better.

Start Date: May 11, 2007

Time Elapsed: 76 days

Week’s Weight Loss: 8.0 pounds (after a prior gain of 4.6 pounds for the previous two weeks)

Net Loss for 3 weeks: 3.4 pounds

Total Weight Lost Thus Far: 23.4 pounds

Weight Remaining: 76.6 pounds

Weight Remaining to Actual Goal Weight: 80.4 – 90.4 pounds

I start the new job on Monday, and I’m still waiting for the movers to arrive with my stuff. Next goal is to get a new gym membership. I think my aunt is looking into that. (Discount with two people signing up and whatnot.) The fact that my apartment is on the third floor with no elevator helps me get a little extra in. I’m only a week behind where I wanted to be at this point, so I’m still pretty happy, overall.

It’s nice to have internet again (even though I was only without it for a week, haha). I went back and caught up on everyone’s entries. Everyone is doing great! And some new people, too! Keep up the good work, everyone.

July 5

Start Date: May 11, 2007

Time Elapsed: 56 days

Week’s Weight Loss: 1.0 pound

Total Weight Lost Thus Far: 20.0 pounds!

Weight Remaining: 80.0 pounds

Weight Remaining to Actual Goal Weight: 83.8 – 93.8 pounds

Well, another low week, as I had predicted. I only really had two days where I didn’t eat as well as I’ve been eating, but I had 5 nights where I wasn’t at my own house, and that always makes things difficult. I’m still happy with the loss, as that brings me to an even 20 pounds. Not bad for 8 weeks.

Good news though. I found out on Monday that I GOT THE JOB that I interviewed for. I’m so excited! My first real job. So now things are going as I hoped…I’ll leave Pennsylvania on July 17. The movers should arrive with my stuff on July 19, or there abouts. And then I start my new job on July 30! Yay!

It’s still going to be a rough month, because I have to get through packing, a wedding, moving, unpacking, and starting the new job, but it is all things I’m looking forward to (except the packing part).

On another note, I finally got to try on my bridesmaid dress. It was a disaster! The dress is gorgeous, but they ordered it sizes too big. And not like “I lost 20 pounds, so this doesn’t fit now” but “We don’t know how to order the right size”. The dress just fell off of me. It’s supposed to be strapless, but the part that was supposed to be above my chest was below it. And I have a big chest. Geeze! It just came in last Tuesday. And the shop said they need 4-6 weeks for alterations, and they weren’t even open when I was there in town. The wedding is July 14! We took it to a friend of the bride’s mom, and she said to do it properly, the whole top would have to be taken apart and resized, and there isn’t time for that. She’s going to try to do a quick fix so that it is at least wearable. I have a feeling after the “quick fix” that I won’t be able to get it fixed properly, but maybe I’ll lose so much weight it won’t matter. It is such a nice dress, and I could totally wear it again. Oh well. I just hope it works out so my friend doesn’t have to worry about it. Oh, and her wedding dress is gorgeous. I can’t wait to see her in it!

So that’s how the rest of the month is looking. I don’t know if I’ll reach my mini-goal of 28.8 pounds gone by August 1. 8.8 pounds is looking like a lot to ask for this month. But once I get situated in my new place, things should go a lot better!
