trying to make this happen
I’ve been baking, and making more sweet concoctions, which to me has been an outlet for creative energy.
On the drawing board for the next couple of months- painting and pottery and other projects.
Keep you posted!
For those unfamiliar- it’s a heavier and longer surfboard which you stand on, and you steer yourself with an oar. It’s a great workout- for legs and feet because you’re constantly trying to stabilize and for your arms, but abs as well.
Paddling the right way requires you to use the upper(opposite) arm to drive the oar into the water and propel yourself forward- this requires core power rather than pure arm strength.
Standing up is not hard, and after a few minutes on calm water you should get your sea legs. It takes a little more balance when there are bumps or waves, but still quite manageable.
I didn’t fall until I tried doing tricks(moving to the back of the board to turn it around, or turning backwards on the board and paddling backwards- this is tricky because it keeps trying to spin on you)
We even caught some tiny bumps onto the beach, and learned to jump on the board after pushing off.
I was told that I caught on pretty quick, but I still think this manageable for most folks.
i highly recommend this to anyone who wants to try it!
I for one can’t wait to get better and catch waves!
