How I did it: I dropped in to book an appointment and the tattoo artist that was available at the time slot I wanted turned out to be the same artist who tattooed my friend a couple months back. Went in today and bam! I have a tattoo. It's very small and dainty. I can't wait to get more =) Read how I did it…
How I did it: I am in complete shock that I actually did it. It took me 14 months. I started enumerating things that make me happy 14 months ago... and I just finished. None the less, I finished!I just kept coming back to this website and updated my one entry. Some of them are pretty shallow, some kind of deep and profound. But things are things, and these things make me happy. Read how I did it…
How I did it: It was either hitchhiking or walking up a mountain to the Griffith Observatory in LA. A lot of people waved, but we obviously did not need people waving at us. We needed a ride up the freaking mountain. This one Cambodian man who works at the Observatory was kind enough to let us hop on. He made sure beforehand that we did not have any sharp objects or anything..... as if we would have any. Read how I did it…
i just read a commencement speech of his, and i know the man is successful and all, but i really didn’t expect his speech to be.. moving.
he told of three stories and the third one.. the third one was brilliant. it’s brilliant because i agree and the timing of me reading it was nothing short of serendipitous. i am about to get “memento mori” tattooed on my nape and his third story just happened to be about death and how greatly the notion of one’s death should affect the way life is lived.
i’m so excited to get my tattoo!
i find commencement speeches very inspiring. they always manage to tug at my heartstrings, because they are all about life from here on end. i have yet to graduate, and when i do, i doubt there will be a touching commencement speech by some wise Dumbledore-type person. or maybe there will be, but i am in need of advice on life and i cannot wait 6 more years until i graduate with my master’s, after getting my bachelor’s of course.
so i will read commencement speeches from far and near to somewhat guide me as i make life decisions both big and small.
