Time really flies when you’re having fun (and/or enjoying what you’re doing). There are only four days of university left. Four days, wow. I can still remember being a freshman on campus and now I’ve almost finished my medical degree.

How I did it: I always knew I wanted to be a doctor. Cliche but true. I was that kid running around the school yard with the plastic doctors kit, banging on knees and sticking bandaids on people. In 2003 I sat the entrance exam, finished my highschool finals and went for the interview. Only 2% of people will ever get into medical school (apparently) but I didn't let that deter me. I have always been driven and ambitious. When I was o… Read how I did it…
How I did it: I actually got my learner's permit two years ago and since then have been driving around supervised. I finally got off my butt and booked formal lessons so I could actually pass the test - and I did it first time! Definitely worth doing, not to mention a necessity. Read how I did it…
It’s been a while, but finally got around to sitting the theory test for my learner’s permit the other day (Christmas Eve) and passed first time round. I was really pleased, and dad took me out for a spin the next day which was a nice Christmas treat. I think I did pretty well, my driving was smooth and I managed to park successfully, spot on in the parking slot.
It was a night to remember. We held it in a pretty Parisian cocktail/cabaret lounge down town and the theme was Roaring 20’s. Most people came dressed to impress and several went above and beyond the call of duty. There were feathers and beads and flappers galore, and the perfect soundtrack to set the mood which I’d put together. My cake was a large profiterole MONSTER (I kid you not, I think there were seventy enormous serves in that thing) with birthday placard in white and dark chocolate. There was more than enough food to go around, platters of cheese and fruit, and the drinks were flowing…wine, bubbly, cocktails, absinthe.
Cheers!
