I was in Paris with a girl I was dating on a picture taking excursion. Suddenly, it began to rain and we huddled beneath an advertisement column near Parc Monceau. I noticed across the street another couple was huddled in a door jamb and began to kiss lightly. I decided to do the same and leaned in, but my girlfriend wasn’t up for it as she told me a week before that SHE had a boyfriend. Though I knew trying to ignore our platonic pact was bad, I had to try anyway.
