On Friday (night before Halloween), I kittened for the show. (Kittening is somewhat like stage-handing and picking up the discarded articles of clothing and props after the performance, while looking good.) We kittens were somewhat incorporated into the show a little. All the wonderful dancers of the evening were very appreciative of my help, and I received an offer to dance at an upcoming event in Jan/Feb. Plenty of time to pull together a routine and costume.. even with my ridiculously busy schedule. Definitely looking forward to it. ;)

How I did it: I learned the basic knit stitch while visiting my sister, who had just learned to knit. Unfortunately, I promptly forgot how to do it after coming home from the visit.I relearned the basics from a couple sources. There are essentially 4 things you need to know in order to knit -- how to cast on (starting the piece), how to do the knit stitch, how to do the purl stitch, and how to cast/bind off (ending the piece). The rest of i… Read how I did it…
How I did it: I was required to complete a semester-long internship for college credit to graduate from my program. A classmate mentioned availability at the company she was interning for, so I applied for the intern position as a Web Designer/Developer. Luckily for me, it was one of the few paid internships available to me. Unfortunately, the place I was interning at was on a hiring freeze, so I had to wait for roughly 3 months before my paperwork wen… Read how I did it…
I’ve started doing a series of sun salutations on waking up in the morning. It’s not really a full session of yoga, but it is quick, short, and easy to incorporate into my morning routine.
I’m looking to expand this to a more full session.
...with the other goal: “Stick to a Budget.” ;)
While in college, I’ve decreased my savings quite a bit, but I don’t have any outstanding debts. I will be starting some student loans in the future though, which will be a collaborative effort.
Through continual working, managing a budget, and saving more, I look at this as being feasible in the near future. Aiming towards completely financially independent by then end of next year (Dec 2010).
