I am thrilled to become a part of the Etsy family. Etsy is a place to buy and sell handmade products. It provides easy to use hosted, ecommerce stores and innovative discovery mechanisms for people to find the products they want.
I’ll be:
- progamming using several dynamic languages
- working with industry experts
- part of my role will include research and development
- working from home with my lovely wife
- solving new problems
- working on a product I actually like
I can’t reccomend highly enough following your heart and striving to get a job you’ll really love.

I’ve only recently grasped the power and potential of social bookmarking sites. I love being able to access my bookmarks from anywhere and the ability to categorize them with mutilple tags.
I’m a staunch Google fan, so I’m a little ashamed to admit that I love Yahoo’s MyWeb. It’s a social bookmarking site with a twist. It saves a copy of the site you are tagging so that if it changes, or the site is down, you always have a copy of what you were originally interested in.
The only benefit I still see in using del.icio.us is the tight Firefox integration. When I combine the del.icio.us extension with my greasemonkey userscript def.oc.us, adding a bookmark is as easy at hitting Ctrl-Shift-/, typing some tags and hitting enter.
I’m planning on doing the same thing for MyWeb.

I’ve found that I don’t know perl well enough to really understand the examples in this book. Unfortunately, learning perl is not a priority. Maybe when perl 6 is released I’ll spend some time with it, and then I can come back to this goal.
