Being a film buff and having watched many iranian films from filmmakers like abbas kiarostami, jafaar panahi and maklabaf, I was deeply mesmerised by the culture and the stunning landscape of the country. I decided that I really want to visit this amazing country in my life.

How I did it: I signed up for the Standard Chartered Singapore Marathon 2008 with the repeated persuasion (or, coercion!) of my friend who volunteered to be my cheerleader and my companion for the run. I had already set my mind on running a marathon, which is deemed as a milestone in one's life and something that should be done when one has the athletic ability to do it.
