I am really going to make this goal happen this year. I set really really high standards for myself so I find it easy to hold others to high standards too. But that I’m disappointed or worse (upset and flustered) when they let me down. I need to lighten up! Cut everyone some slack and act more humble. Knowing it is half the battle, now I’m about to implement it. My new motto is to give everyone a “get out of jail free card” daily. When I find myself judging someone or holding them to a standard they are surely not going to meet, I mentally hand them a get out fail free card which allows me to let them go in my mind and shrug off their failure to live up to my standards. (I mean really, who am I to judge another anyways??? I am not the end all be all). Since doing this I feel a lot more peace. But sometimes I forget, so I’ve got some work to do.

I’m pretty much a driver. I set my mind to do something and I go for it. I’m learning to be more directed than driven now. When I take a step back and trust God to be God and do something on my behalf, I end up much further ahead than by sheer effort. Plus, it can be exhausting! Better to be still and trust!

I promised my sister I would write a book. I have always known I am a talented writer, but never wanted to become an author until late. I’m not ready to do anything about it yet, but it will come to me, when it’s my season. And when it does, it’ll be good. You’ll know because you’ll see it on the NY time best-seller. Watchout now.
