is it possible that 6 months can really fly by? so cliche, (and tiring) when people tell you that things will go by so quicky after the baby arrives, but it is true, (trite?) true.
So, here we are at the six month mark. Our pediatrician told us that it would make sense to start weening her now that we are introducing solids, but I am not hip to that. She can’t have cow’s milk, and I am not in the mood to prep bottles now that we are grooving with nursing. So, she stays on the breast.
We are pros, now.

I found an awesome resource – seemommyrun.com.
the website lists groups all across the USA, (and there is also a Canadian site) of mommies who would like to get together to run on a regular basis. Naturally, the groups are friendly to strollers, and are filled with experienced and not-so-experienced moms (ahem, me).
Sasturday was my first run with a group since I trained for a marathon in 2003. I am quite sure that the group was appalled by my slow pace, but they stuck with me (no mommy lest behind!)and I felt like I had accomplished a huge feat – but I really just ran 3 miles.
No matter! All things have their beginnings, and coming back to running has the more painful beginnings – you remember your old level of fitness, and how it contrasts starkly to what is now.
was the hard part. For us, once we got over the incredible pain that was the beginning of breastfeeding, the rest has been cruise control.
My little one’s newest habit is blowing raspberries while nursing. Milk, saliva go everywhere. She is absolutely delighted by it, and it takes every ounce of restraint in my body to not guffaw at her antics.
Part of me wants to encourage such absurd behavior, though…
