So far…
Things I don’t eat anymore: Meat (including fish), cooked eggs (scrambled, boiled, over easy, etc. which is a biggie coming from a chicken farm ;), Milk (drinking or in cereal)
Why do people believe fish is not meat? for that matter… Why do people think alcohol isn’t a drug?
Things I still eat at the moment: eggs milk and butter in cooked or baked products, cheese, and frozen yogurt.
Sometimes it gets hard for me to stop and think what is in the product before i eat it. Like bread… most breads are ok right? It can be tricky to know if animal products are in certain foods and if you dont have the ingredients listed on a box in front of you it can be impossible to tell unless you yourself made it. I enjoy cooking but I dont have time to cook every meal. Most days I eat cereal and soy milk for breakfast. And then count the non-vegan things from then on. Eventually i will have fruit salad or spinach salad for lunch and a nice hot veggie meal for dinner.
I’m doing good. baby steps.

My friend and I went to a Mexican grill type place for lunch today. It was the last day we could get lunch together this semester, because finals are next week. Anyways I ordered the veggie burrito sticking to my goal. My friend knew the person waiting on us and started a conversion. She asked me if I was a vegetarian and I said no.
Why?
My friend has a stigma against vegans or vegetarians. He told me once about how a student brought in candy for everyone and the girl next to him didn’t take one. She stated that she was vegan. So he told her that for every candy she didn’t eat he would eat 2. Even farther he told her for every steak or hamburger she passed up he would eat double. She was obviously appalled.
And this all came to mind the moment he wanted to go to lunch. I knew his opinions and I didnt feel like getting hit like that. But even without saying i was trying to become vegan I told him how humans really are not made to eat meat. I was preaching to him though it got me no where. Which is fine. Even though i denied being a vegetarian I still got some words in against eating meat. It’s too bad it fell on such stubborn judgmental ears.
I should have said yes, but I was scared…

Well since i started this goal towards the end of this semester, i should worry so much about these grades. But i am. I know for 2 classes i have a 4.0. Tomorrow i take another final exam and i thought i was doing pretty well but today i missed an online quiz. Not because i forgot about it but because the details were not clear. Oh well I’m not worried about it because i should still get a good grade in the class. (if the final goes well) The only class i’m really worried about is my math class. I have another week to study for that. So 2 classes done and with 4.0’s. 3 more classes to go…
wish me luck! <3
