go to college
Never stop learning

I freaking loved college.
Not just the staying up all night, smoking untold cigarettes and hanging out with my friends. Even just the learning part (oh yeah, that)....I was sad to leave; there were so many things left to learn about! I never got to take that Underwater Archaeology class…and I only got one degree….I didn’t want to decide what I wanted to do when I grew up and then run with it; I wanted to stay in school until I was qualified to do ANYTHING I might eventually want to do. I never took a writing class, missed that American Environmental History course…maybe if I’d had the right teacher I might have even gotten interested in military history.

wistfulness Now I’m ready to go back.

Whoop.

Paragliding in Interlaken

This is the perfect “extreme sport” for me; the joy of flying without that massive adrenaline rush of actually jumping off of anything…just nice and smooth. Oddly enough, I thought that the take-off and landing would be scary, but those were easy! I was actually scared while we were up in the air; I had this irrational fear that the wind/air would suddenly “stop” and we would just drop like a rock. didn’t help that my little seat thing wasn’t really in the right place so I felt like I was sliding out of my seat the whole time. But I’m so glad I did it, and I would really like to do it again. And again, and again and again. Eventually I think the fear would subside :)
