I have a dog that is part wolf, part Siberian Husky. We have a big backyard, so he loves it outside. My bedroom window faces over the backyard and everynight, he howls and I swear, after all these years of listening to him howl, I can understand what he wants or what he is saying. His tone changes, the length changes, there are different inflections. It’s beautiful. I’ve never heard a wild wolf howl, though I don’t imagine it would be any different.

I moved to Alberta, finally, a few months ago. Not as great as I was expecting it. It was so difficult to get an Albertan ID! I need a bill or something, but because I was living with a friend, I had nothing of the sort. And because I didn’t have Albertan ID, I couldn’t get a criminal record check that the job I was applying for – and would otherwise get – required! And because I couldn’t get a job, I could never get a bill. =P See how it’s one big circle? Anyways, I ended up opening an account at the bank and used the papers from that as my proof of address – not that they asked me to even verify it! But whatever, it worked.
There’s so much wildlife and beautiful forestry out here, though. Ofcourse, the fact that probably half the province hunts for game kind of cancels the beauty right out of that.
I also now just live in a small town with nothing in it. =( So I’m, personally, not too thrilled with this province. There are a lot of other reasons, but I’ve rambled enough I think. Good luck to anyone planning to move out here! Hope I didn’t crush any dreams.
Oh, wait. I will add in one thing I love about this province – I have a GREAT paying job with more hours than I can handle sometimes!
