He’s almost an official teenager. Peer pressure is all around and I’m determined to be ‘in the loop’ of what’s going on in his life. We try to eat dinner at the dinner table at least 4 nights a week and just talk. I start by asking what was the worst thing today? And then follow up with what was the best? These questions are at least keeping the door open for a little conversation. In return I answer the same questions for him. As his mom I know he doesn’t need to know everything so I make sure to keep it appropriate and not stress him out over adult issues. I know this is only the beginning… we have a long way to go. It’s worth it, he’s worth it.
