I have plans of adopting a bunny in September, when I move into my apartment.
Already I have talked to the “foster home” owners and they have let me adopt a rabbit from them. I am so excited! Bunny! (or even a bonded pair of 2!) I have wanted a rabbit for a long time, since March I believe. I thought I would let the idea grow on me to make sure it was not a phase. So 5 months later I still have a desire to. Yay! Bunny.
I want to give bunny the best home possible. I will litterbox train her/him, let her outside of her cage when I am home constantly. Perhaps even let her outside of her cage at all times, if things go super well. I am excited to prepare fresh nutritious foods for them, and let them walk around as they please. I have been going to the pet store for several months now to look at the bunnies and play with them. I decided to adopt from a “foster home” instead of a pet shop, because rabbits are often taken too early from their mum because babies are easier to sell, and they are not given great care. So.. supporting a foster home is much better. They take in bunnies that were abused or neglected and provide a good home for them. Then when the buns are ready and healthy they can be put up for adoption into a good, permanent home. (i also had to go through two interviews to make sure I would be a good caretaker.)
Yay bunzzz!
