Loved Voltaire. Found Nathaniel Hawthorne to be a complete bore. Thomas Hardy was sad and wonderful. Jane Austen was very catty and delicious. Nothing, however, comes close to modern writer Pat Conroy. And I still adore Nancy Mitford’s wry style in her clever books! Oh, and Margaret Kennedy’s , “The Constant Nymph” is an old fave too! Ohhh, cannot leave out Maya Angelou or Harper Lee!
