I had my website domain & hosting ever since 2006 while I was in college for my Multimedia degree. I had this same splash page that I have done ever since the beginning. With school, working and now a child, I never had the time to actually sit down, design, code and execute a personal website for myself. I have done a portfolio website for myself but it only can be accessed by knowing the sub-domain it’s linked to.

Since my graduation in 2008, I have created 4 websites and worked on 2 websites for contract jobs but still my home-page is just blah. So now that I have a couple weeks left of nothing to do till my new job starts, I will launch my personal website to the world. Don’t worry 43Thingers, you’ll be the first to know.

Over the past couple of months, I haven’t been talking to my bf as much as I use to and was kind of worried that I wasn’t loved anymore. I know that sounds stupid but coming from talk to a person everyday to maybe having a convo once every 3 weeks can be dramatic to a young spoiled girl in love. Now I know he has his own life and so do I, trust me I want him do whatever he needs to do without me being pressed on him. And also his phone being cut off was a reason of the distance of timing between convos. But there are time when I can be a little selfish with his attention. And being far apart does make it hard when you want to be close to each other.

So what I did is something that not only helped me out when I missed but it reassured me that he missed me just as much. One night, I missed him so much that I just laid in bed dreaming and wishing things to happen. So I logged into my IM client where I have his screen-name and typed out a long message (I mean a loooonnng message) that pretty much laid out my feelings and thoughts about him. That he is the only one I can see myself with and that no one can ever mean as much as he does to me which is very very true. And that I know we are waiting for that right time to make things official and I’ll always be his number one fan for life.

Well today, by my surprise, he got my message and lets just say, the love was never gone and still going strong. I guess the distance helps makes the heart grow fonder, every single day. And hearing those 3 little words from your best friend, love of ur life and soul-mate can put a huge smile on a girl’s face for days.

I have learned basic Spanish back in high school for 2 years but that was over 6 years ago. At that time, I just learned enough to get a good grade in the class. Now I need to learn more to help my daughter learn the language. She is half Dominican and just 2 years old but her father (who is Dominican) don’t live near us nor get to see and actually can teach her the language himself. We both want her to know and speak Spanish well, not just for her heritage but for future employment and educational reasons.

So as a single parent, its up to me to learn, do and teach as much to her as I can. We watch shows like Dora the Explorer and Go Diego Go, and yes we love to watch Spanish Novellas (I love the drama and understands somehow what happens on those shows). I’m starting to understand words more as I hear people talk Spanish but I need to learn more.

But for right now, we will watch our shows and whenever her father is in town or we go on visits, He will just read Spanish books to her.
