Ok so, I FINALLY got my locks started ! YAYYYY meee =) I am SOOOO excited for my babies ! It’s been 3 weeks so far, I started them on March 4th, using the COMB COIL method ! I did them ALL by myself, and I wish I had counted them, but i’m guesstimating I have around 130 locks!
I PARTED my hair randomly, but I made sure the lines were straight, and most of them are larger than standard or traditional size, but i put a few smaller ones in there. I definitely want THICKER, fuller locks, but I also like don’t want them TOO uniform. The product I used was by Organic Root Stimulator—Lock and Twist Gel. I think it was like, 4 bucks from WalMart. I usually opt for 100%organic and natural products, and plan on using pure aloe vera in the future, but this product was water-based and as pure and light as the others. Today I noticed my hair and scalp were EXTREMELY dry ={, and i’m thinking it’s partly the product, so i’m gonna try something new next time I retwist. I’m gonna try to hold out for another 2 weeks this time.
Besides the flaking, and itchy scalp (I started using the ACV rinse, and it works great!), the only downfalls have been styling. Well I had been wearing hats and scarves, but i’m getting tired of them ! I actually tried a funky style today, and I like it =)
I committed to loving my hair, no matter what. No matter the stage – whether i’m short, frizzed up, poofy, unruly, – i’m going to accept and adore my crown. I KNOW my babies are going to blossom and grow into beautiful young matted locks, really soon. And there’s no rush. This is a true J O U R N E Y !

i definitely need to cover this horrible tat i got on my wrist, and add on for a semi-sleeve type thing?
i also want sum artwork on my back, side, and ankle/foot .
all powerful and meaningful symbolisms that i will be able to look at 200 years from now and still love !
some people come into your life for a reason,
some people come into your life for a season,
others are for a l i f e t i m e.
i’m on a spiralling stairwell. each step/lesson leads me to a higher level of existence. being who i am is getting quite lonely over here ! i accept all that is for what it is, but i want more positive relationships ! i’ve realized that most of my past ‘homegirls’ are not really friends right now, for various reasons. there is not one female, one woman that i can connect with how i want to, besides my mother ! it’s kinda difficult picking up new relationships at this age when most women are ‘clickish’, and not open-minded. i tend to attract guys more as friends, and that’s cool, but what i desire is more of a spiritual bond . where my real sistahs at ? ?
people are continually being sent my way, i’m just learning how to accept them, and how to create what i want from the relationships .
some people look at me admiringly, others sideways.
either way. peace .
