I only have four movies left. They weren’t available through Netflix, so I bought used copies on VHS. Now I just have to find time to watch them…

How I did it: I learned some basic poses through the video "Yoga for Dummies." Yeah, I know. But the instructor was great, and it goes over the most common poses in a lot of detail. I did yoga videos at home for awhile, only occasionally trying a class at the gym. About six weeks ago, I took my first class at a real studio. I've been attending weekly since then, and I absolutely love it! I'm hooked for life. Read how I did it…
How I did it: You have to just commit to it. Write every day (don't wait until the last 10 days to try to cram in 35000 words like I did), and don't edit! Just keep writing, even if you think it's complete drivel. It will all work out in the end, and you'll be amazed at the ideas you come up with and how your characters take on a life of their own! I never imagined I would feel such a sense of accomplishment. Read how I did it…
How I did it: I used one of those Bibles that is organized into daily readings that allow you to complete it in a year. I plan to do it again this year, but with one of the Bibles that are organized chronologically. I previously tried to do it with a regular Bible and a reading plan, but for some reason it was just easier with a Bible that was already organized into the daily readings. Read how I did it…

For the first 7 days of January, I read a short story every day from a book of international short stories called “Other Voices, Other Vistas.” Now, I’m working on a book of classic American short stories.
This is the third time I’m attempting this program. It’s a great program and not too hard for my fitness level – I just have to be committed. The first time I tried it was fall 2010, and I almost finished it. Last time was this past fall, 2011, and I got pretty close to finishing and was in good enough shape to run my first 5K. Then I stopped running altogether! This week was great – the last workout felt easy.
