I recently joined a local co-op and have been buying local produce more often.

How I did it: I lost my fire virginity at a regional burn called Preheat and had some experienced friends watching me and being safety. I had a small crowd gather and they were so encouraging and supportive, it was amazing! Definitely worth all that practicing and hitting myself with the practice poi til I got better and better!!! Ever since I first learned about Burning Man in December 2006 I have been DYING to go. I have resolved to go in 2009 and I WILL DO IT!!! I need travel companion[s] though, and I have been saving up so it will be feasible [hopefully].
Update 4-15-09
I have my Burning Man ticket and a ride, although I have to drive to Atlanta to get to the rideshare, it is with a cool group of folks and will undoubtedly be a life-changing experience. I hope to bring a few close friends next year.
